Reydel/Peugeot Instrument Panel New Product and Production Process Design (France)
I identified the application, sought out and created a partnership with Reydel Automotive (www.reydel.com), a tier 1 supplier to Peugeot, to develop new automotive interior instrument panel products.
The stated design goal was to reduce material consumption by 20 percent, increase stiffness, increase energy absorption under impact and reduce the required production tonnage (thus required equipment size) by 50%
Ongoing developments resulted in award winning products.
A Ford Escape instrument panel application exploiting this technology won the Society of Plastics Engineers Grand Award in the associations 41st Auto Innovation Awards Competition. (2011)
